Eloo Home about us
So many things and so little time
Remember the time when we got back home, I was exhausted, but my mind was still hanging on another project. That is other kind of work. I didn't want myself to work frantically, but I didn't want to give myself some easy excuses to be lazy either. It was so closed to accomplish that day's task which I planed for, but again, progress of our type of work didn't always go as plan. There always will have problems, new bugs after old bugs, surprises out of surprises. I remembered I told the buyer I need two more weeks to finish remaining tasks, but now I still need one more. Again, it was so closed to complete this week's tasks which I really planed for. Although, working on hourly based gives me some advantages this time. I won't need to feel the pressure of catching up the dead line, but knowing the buyer is still expecting the program can be done as soon as possible is enough to tense me up, and even helpless. Deal is deal, once I carry it out, I'm sure both sides will feel it is worthwhile.

Pet's natural instinct
It's still that kind of thing, that you don't really believe it until you experience it. Like I always heard of the story how close a god get attached with their owners, but until we have Pascal, then I realize how good he picks up my emotions. Especially for Pascal as an golden retriever, he is so naughty, and untrained when we got him from previous owner, yet when he does something wrong, he still can get my anger at him jumping up the table to grab food, or ignore me when he senses my just a little bit of that sympathies for his cuteness.
One night, I got up the bed with fever and walked to livingroom. Baby and Pascal is in the livingroom, on my way to livingroom through the corridor, Pascal started barking. I walked very slowly because of my headache, and I thought he can't recognize the sound of my footstep. However, I was too tired to say anything. He still continued barking when I reached the door of livingroom until he totally woke Baby up. Later Baby realized Pascal could possibly sensed my fever as well, either my body temperature, sweats etc. Either way, when I think back, it's still amazing to witness their natural instincts.

Another interesting news I saw about a cat perdicted patients' death.

Our walking alarm
"Are you alarm?!" Baby blurted out the words when Hasbi barged into the room and meowed nonstop to our ears in the morning. Since then, he has been acting awfully vigorous, I never once truly calm him down until now. Actually I guess it is him got tired finally. Don't they always say cats are cool and anti socialized? However, when we keep him around 24 hours a day as the way Pascal likes to stick with us, Hasbi has become a walking alarm. Another morning, the regular, normal alarm clock did its usual morning call, I reached the alarm, pressed the snooze button and continued my sleeping section. Right after I lay down, he jumped into our bed and started to beg for food. Hasbi always knows when we will be or supposed to be awake. I have to get up again, take his food bag, and pour it into his plate. Doing this whole thing is like searching for a Hasbi snooze button, except....this alarm clock is buzzing everywhere. He looks cute when he is staring at us though.

Tell numbers
I have to call the bank again. Every time when I make this phone call, I become nervous. Later, I gather three reasons for this that..
a, Strange English.
Unlike the English people around me speak, the women on the phone has a strange accent that I couldn't quite distinguish it from Turkish. Considering that I'm still learning Turkish, she makes me attempt to reply to her in Turkish while I should speak in English.

b, It is not the "you" I want to use.
Whenever I speak the word "you", I just feel this word didn't come out right. Both Chinese and Turkish has the polite term for "you", and I found myself even couldn't pretend being formal by saying "you" in English in that sense.

c, Tell numbers.
Numbers only get stuck into my head if I memorize them in Chinese. Every time when I try to tell a phone number, there goes a language war between my head and my tongue. My tongue tries to ask the phone number from my head in English and my head tries to search for it from my memories in Chinese while my instinct even hasn't decided to tell the phone number in English or Turkish. In the end, I forgot the phone number.

However, later I find out that I'll have the gesticulation for each phone number for myself and just read them, it will make things easier for me. Amazing, my fingers win the war!

Making color recipe for LCD
That day I finally had the second LCD monitor set up and spent almost one hour on adjusting the color( Gamma, brightness, contrast... ). Baby was laughing at me being paranoid, however, as an designer, how can't I be?! :D Having two monitors to do work is like eating pizzas with extra large size. I can put more things on it, and so it tastes particularly delicious. For a long time, I choose not to use LCD monitor because of the design work, but now I need LCD monitor to work on programming. Staring at code lines on CRT monitor is killing me, but the colors on LCD aren't very trusting, so I set up an LCD monitor beside my original CRT. It seems to be very common that the secondary screen will have some problems more or less. When baby set up his second monitor before, the fonts on the screen weren't steady, appeared blinking within seconds(later he fixed it). My LCD has problem with fonts having shadows, blurring, and minor color differences( being paranoid as I've said.) The problem of having text shadows, blurring is solved by adjusting the clock and phase setting. The color problem .. I have to adjust each red ,green, blue color individually from screen card's program. Oh, but the result is very satisfying.

Checked!
"Incoming, Incoming, the coughing is coming!" So, I covered my ears with my hands, and then... Walla! I coughed. I didn't do that so I can avoid hearing my coughing, it just the cough vibrates my entire brain inside out, and that is annoying. Honeybee spent a lot of time on recovering from the flu, and later I also copied his flu to myself, it's just as much like as what we do with our interests and habits. Now, honeybee checked the task I wrote on pocket PC "Get Well". Though, looking at those projects fell behind the schedule, I can't help wondering what I've missed.
