| Where is the box? | | Finally, this project has some satisfying progress. It was terrible yesterday. I rambled and struggled, yet still had no solutions for the problem. More specifically speaking, I can't know where or what the problems are exactly. They always have the saying that "Think outside of box when you are stuck." However, what if I even have no idea where that box is? All I had were only those desultory solutions. It is so much frustrating than confronting unknown yet sense challenge in Delphi. I had several different functions called by the button events, and these functions interacted with different MovieClip to perform various animation effects. Sadly, it appeared that those button events didn't called my functions correctly. I assumed that there have flaws in my logic, but I can't determine where I made mistakes. Right at that moment, some amusing idea struck me. In this situation, I was actually luckier than me at the time in quarrel when I can't see I'm making mistakes. Amazing, how invisible a logic flaw can be! Anyway, I've fixed the bug in program today, and let the project move on. Wait a minute.. I forgot to note that the solution is really outside of the box. - March 8th, Wednesday -

| | Take a deep breath... and relax... | That is one part of the lyrics from Enigma's music. The music has been playing in the background while we are working in the early morning. I can't get myself relax, though. Since it has been a long time that I haven't do flash project, I've almost forget most AS' syntax. However, the good thing about programming is it is pretty based on logic, I'll just need to pick up the right dictionary to look up.
The turning box on the right side is one of the effect I took out from my current project. It is only purely handy made 3D, frame by frame with different drawing. I realize most of things I do require lots of patients and if I'm patent enough, the result always can satisfy me. The only problem is to start getting being patient is a tough task. Somehow, I recalled every time playing piano generates more diligent minds for me. Speaking of piano, a couple of days ago, we bought a harmonica, and I find myself like this instruments surprisedly. Next time, I shall also go to try this one when I run out of my patients.- March 5th, Sunday -

| | Oh, my... again?!New project for now. | | Oh,well, this is the first time I made diagram for flash project. Since previous flash project last year, I've switched to develop in Delphi more. I kept on complaining about the messy programming environment in flash in this image viewer project, however I admire its convenience of user interface design. Of course it is a lot much easier and flexible than doing it in Delphi. The messy programming environment is that I have to keep on clicking from movie clips to another, switching from properties panel and actionscript editor panel, and sometimes it is just drive me crazy about this small clicking because it makes me forget what was I doing. It's like writing an entire story in many small pieces of memo notes, and then paste them on the table while trying to make them look in the order I'd feel comfortable. Though this image viewer starts for our online bookstore primitively, later I made a personal-use version out of it. (Giggle~)However, don't know when I'll have this impulse to start another flash project again. - June 28th, Tuesday -

| | Have you ever noticed.... |  Usually, you start to type characters after this blinking line. That's right, and they call this is set focus.
For a long time, even until now I still have this question for Macromedia Flash group that why the script editor didn't set focus back to itself after I switch to another program and then jump back into the script editor of Macromedia Flash. For one good reason I can think of to explain this is that M.Flash is trying to protect users from mistyping after jumping back into the program. Oops, but must I double press the F9 key to close and reopen the script editor panel in order to get the focus back? Another explanation for this is that M.Flash assumes most of the users will always use the mouse to work on computer. However, have you ever seen people switching program to program by pressing Alt+Tab to save the energy used in 0.2 seconds? No kidding. Sometimes, a software has its own tradition culture ,too.

| | From the old me | | That was over months ago since I had project on Flash. Now the feeling opening Flash again is quite funny, especially when I start to write actionscript. Those days I worked on Flash project were long and interesting experiences, and then I got off the table after the spark. Now I am just building one simple bookpage viewer for online bookshop. There has no new concept, just rewrite some of my codes from my old projects. Because of this project, I was thinking of writing tutorial again, but there come the conflicts to me. My idea of writing tutorial is to share my knowledge with people, and the tutorial should contain not only the things about codes themselves, but also the method of how my mind goes. I like to write tutorials at the moment when my mind is still part of the subject of tutorial, and once my thoughts have turned to something else, I feel not right to write it again because I can't recall the stumbling block I encountered. Maybe, maybe the next time, I'll find the chance to have them with me again. - March 1th, Tuesday -

Hum... I don't remember when I finished this project and just knew it has gone long time that making the flash project since this one about streaming player. I defiantly took very long days off from making flash.lol Well�
MEMO: However, from the music section, you can take a look another type of streaming player I've just added. The song was sent by querystring from mySql to flash player I feel so relieved and happy for finishing this project
Beginning:
Started this project few days ago, however in fact I've been thinking about making it since some person give me the feedback for my previous version's streaming mp3 player that suggested to have auto play
Not as it was:
In the previous version I used the new media component in FlashMX 2004professional to handle the streaming mp3 job, therefore I could concentrate on building the xml list (I wanted to load menu items from multi xml files dynamically). Those were very nice experience for me to learn xml with flash. As for continue to the next version which to add auto play feature, I was planning just modify it a little by adding the looping function and change the setMedia's url string...oh!, but this didn't work, I have no idea why. To understand the ins and outs of these new versions flash UIcomponents is still far to me(still new to the actionscript2.0), then I thought the solution to finish this project with my ability is nothing but make my own player.
It was fine...:
From the flash help document, I found the sound class seems very suitable for my need; it has all the basic properties and methods to. So I took the xml menu from previous version and built a simple testing player mode (only play and stop) by using sound class. So far so good, afterward by adding some function to loop the list, I had a simple autoplay with play and stop feature. Continually, I added playnext, play previous features and pause.
Don't!:
It was really going well, how come the pause didn't work? The pause only worked on the first song, and stopped functioning after the list goes into the loop, and the worst thing I found the sound position(in debug) worked badly after going into the loop, too. So, was there problem at my looping or my sound object? It looked like my sound object got damaged, did it mean....I'll have to start all over again...
Again...:
I found I didn't create a new sound object for each item, therefore, when a single sound object got tow music path, it stopped functioning. This time, by using movie frame to loop the player, and then later add xml menu into it, and apply the logic of genetic script, here it became.- Januaray 28th, Friday -
