 How to start this ActionScript Stuff?
-Where can I learn?-Movie Samples
There has some websites have large number of Movie Samples, such as www.flashkit.com and www.actionscript.org. To browse those Movie Samples could gain you more experiences and see more what is ActionScript (no mater what version it used). After you have playing around with ActionScript (even without knowing what it is will be all right, too), by viewing those Movie Samples may help you make sense about what you've experimented on the ActionScript.

1) What you should focus on?
Get ideas what thing Flash can make (I'm sure it's more than you saw while browsing web pages normally)
2) It is not necessary to understand how the Movies set up?
Look at how people use the same function or properties in different way. The ActionScript display in color in Actions panel (if you had at least html codes experience, you'll figure out the different color has different meaning for it), you can check the ActionScript meaning in different color from the Preference for Actions panel(press Ctrl+U or open the ActionScript menu if the very top right corner, select Preference).
 | Syntax:
Every programming language has different syntax, but all used the same logic. It is like human has different language, every language has different grammars, however in grammars the elements of noun, adjective, verb are the very basic , and exit in all language. | Keywords and Identifiers:
They are the noun, verb, adjective in programming language, here also the same applies to ActionScript, these are the power in ActionScript make your Movie Action.These word are defineded by the Flash already,
| Forgrounds and String:
They are modifiable.You use them to make Keywrods and Identifiers has meaning to Movie and be able to function in a Movie.

3) Try to modify it?
After you know about this syntax of ActionScript, the part you can start to try to modify yourself is the Foregrounds and String, to see what changes in the movie, and if that changing makes any sense to you about what do those scripts mean.
